Kharkiv is working on the implementation of above- and underground projects

The development of the city's Master Plan, which envisages the development of above- and below-ground spaces, is underway in Kharkiv.

This was announced by Mayor Ihor Terekhov in an interview with the RBC-Ukraine news agency.

He said that, for example, the project of an underground town was recently presented to attract investors - no city budget funds will be spent on its implementation.

«We also need to create spaces underground to accommodate shopping centres and car parks. This is the case all over the world. Several investors are already willing to join this project. And when the design and estimate documentation is created, they will take part in the tender and start construction. The project involves not only the underground part, but also the above-ground part», - the mayor said.
