Today, August 11, Mayor Igor Terekhov held a working meeting with Bit Armin Mozimann, head of the Kharkiv sub-delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Ukraine.
The main topics of discussion were Kharkiv's preparations for the heating season, the elimination of the consequences of damage to critical infrastructure, and the implementation of humanitarian programs, in particular psychological support for Kharkiv residents.
The mayor also touched on the topic of preparing for winter. He explained that in conditions of constant shelling and a significant number of damaged buildings, the slightest failure in the heating network could create a critical situation. That is why the support of international partners who provide the city with the necessary equipment is vital.
“A large number of broken windows is a serious problem with winter approaching. We are preparing the city for the heating season and are grateful to the Red Cross team for the equipment they have provided. This is an important step towards a stable winter. Only by working together can we overcome all challenges,” said Ihor Terekhov.
For his part, Bit Armin Moizmann emphasized that Kharkiv is one of the main areas of activity for the organization. He noted the coordinated and rapid work of city services, which even after nighttime shelling restore order in the city in just a few hours.
